Sprinkler Fitter Course

FPDI is partnering once again with the Piping Industry Technical College of Manitoba (PITC) to launch a new Sprinkler Fitter program set to begin in April 2026.

PITC’s Sprinkler Fitter pre-employment program offers a solid foundation for those pursuing a career as a licensed sprinkler fitter. Taught by experienced instructors who use current and innovative training methods, the program helps students develop essential construction skills—such as precise measuring and proper tool handling—that are valuable across multiple trades.

Participants also earn industry-recognized safety certifications, enhancing their preparedness for apprenticeship opportunities.

Sprinkler fitters interpret engineered drawings, design system layouts, prepare estimates, install and secure piping, and ensure that fire protection systems comply with safety regulations. They work in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential environments, both indoors and outdoors, and may encounter demanding conditions, including confined spaces and working at heights.

Success in the trade requires strong mechanical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, effective problem-solving and communication abilities, and solid physical endurance.
