Small Engine Maintenance Program
FPDI, in partnership with Lotus Learning Solutions, delivers a comprehensive 5-week training program designed for First Nations individuals who want to build skills in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of two-cycle and four-cycle small engines. This program is well suited for aspiring mechanics, technicians, and hands-on learners seeking practical knowledge for real-world applications. Participants gain both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience working with small engines commonly found in equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, and generators.
The training emphasizes safe work practices, proper tool use, and effective diagnostic techniques to ensure reliable performance and longevity of equipment. Learners will be introduced to key concepts, including engine components, operating principles, and basic repair procedures. By combining classroom instruction with applied practice, the program helps participants develop the confidence and technical ability needed to service small engines efficiently and pursue opportunities in mechanical or industrial fields.
The program runs from August 10, 2026, to
September 11, 2026.
