Heat and Frost Insulator Program
In 2025, FPDI collaborated with Insulators Local 99 to launch the Heat and Frost Insulator Pre-Apprenticeship Program—a 17-week course designed to equip participants with essential safety knowledge, job readiness skills, and hands-on construction training.
Heat and frost insulators are responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to assess material types and quantities for various projects. Their tasks include measuring, cutting, fitting, installing, and securing insulation, as well as safely removing or sealing old asbestos insulation when necessary.
Career opportunities can be found with construction firms, insulation contractors, and industrial facilities.
If you enjoy working with your hands, pay close attention to detail, and are comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, a career as an insulator could be a great fit—especially if you’re passionate about energy conservation.
The first class starts on July 21, 2025. Reach out to Chelsea for more information and to find out if you’re eligible for free tuition! 204-987-9570.
